We are sorry to see so many users unhappy with the performance of their products. We have published an updated driver this week that should help resolve this issue. If you are running Windows 10, please try installing the VGA driver linked below, and let me know if it improves the performance.

And what about Ubuntu users? (windows has ultimately crashed on my computer, and the performance hasn't change that much after running Ubuntu)

Sorry, but Acer only provides driver and software updates for operating systems that we ship on our products. Maybe another user can provide information that can help the system perform better while running Ubuntu.

This is no different to the options offered to the original person posting. It's not a satisfactory response. Do you actually test what you are selling before putting it on the shelf? I'm happy to try downloading that driver but I know it won't work. I've seen lots of suggestions that the display driver is to blame but I've rolled it back to the dumbest driver available and I saw a minor improvement.
I'm not interested anymore about spending time downloading new drivers for something that doesn't work out of the box. I agree you cannot support other operating systems other than windows but the Win10 upgrade was available to everyone. It didn't work on windows 8 and it doesn't work on windows 10.
So please stop with the excuses and don't waste your time try to offer suggestions that most of us tech savvy people have already tried.
Please post either an email address or phone number that we can use to get a refund or replacement with a device that actually works. It's been over a year, I think the poor people who made the error of buying this deserve that.

Hopefully if your still dealing with this i can help...a couple of years ago i bought my wife a brand new acer aspire v5 122p.. I was happy to buy her what i thought was an awesome comp. for the price... I was wrong. Since the day she powered it on the cpu would maxed out and the system would lag super bad... Anyways here we are several years later and i think i finally fixed it.. Go to device manager then display adapters. Hopefully yours is the same but under display adapters mine said it was radeon something something. Double Click , select update driver, then browse computer for driver software. It will find a few drivers. In these results will say Microsoft basic display adapter. Choose this and let the computer do its thing. After its installed everything will be back to normal. Im really not sure what the display adapters actually do but i cannot tell a difference in appearance or anything but my computer cpu is at 14% as im typing lol. It constantly goes up and down from lets say 14% and will jump to 95% for a second then goes right back down but not enough to slow the system down... I can actually navigate from page to page with very little lag and can actually open chrome and watch YouTube!! Like i said hopefully your problem is the same and this will help you out. Ive searched and searched online and have tried everything but nothing made a difference... By the way i did update this computer from windows 8 to windows 10 awhile back and still running windows 10 so i dont know if this will help windows 8 but im sure it will.. Thanks for reading and let me know if this helps!
Wow! Thank you so much for this information, I would say you have no idea how much you helped me but you already know ;) I just bought this laptop off a buddy a few days ago for really cheap and thought it was odd. I reset the entire computer, downloaded windows 10, did all of the updates I could and waited the painstaking time it took. After researching for the past few days and talking to local computer stores I was about to give up. I came across your post and instantly fixed all the problems I was having. I made an account just to post and thank you for this. Much appreciated.
