Acer Predator G9-791-73N7 keyboard and buttons stopped working

I was playing Prey when suddenly all buttons on the laptop stopped functioning (yes, including the power button and adiacent function buttons) as you can see in this video: https://youtu.be/Y_PX2Z_ScUg . I use win10-64bits with the latest updates and I have all the drivers, including the video card (970m) up to date. This happened once before exactly last year while playing Bioshock Infinite, and I did not pay much attention to it, because I solved it by letting the laptop drain the battery, then opening it up and charging. But this shows that is a recurring problem that definitely needs to be solved with a patch.

next time, instead of waiting the battery to drain, use the battery reset button:

by the way, if you are under warranty, i would contact Acer support service, since this is not a normal behaviour.

have you checked if any BIOS update is available for your laptop?

Hello. Thank you for replying and sorry for this kind of late reply.

I hope that a next time won't happen and a battery reset won't be needed. Still, it's good to know that there is another workaround for this kind of situation.

The laptop is still under warranty. I will try, if the problem somehow reoccurs, to solve it with the warranty team from the site that I bought the laptop from. I will, though, contact Acer support service to see if there is any other software that could help solve this issue.

I have checked for BIOS updates and there are two updates on the Product Support page:xzczsa.png

Of which I installed only the latest 1.10 in the March of 2016, would installing the 1.06 update make a difference? sada.png

you already have the latest BIOS version, number are incremental (1.06 older - 1.10 newer)
