Acer Aspire screen resolution
I have a 27 inch monitor attached to my laptop and have the resolution set to 1920 x 1080 when the monitor is connected (which is pretty much all the time). Lately, it has stopped recognizing the monitor when it boots up and the resolution ends up at 14-inch laptop screen size, and I have to restart - every time - to get the proper high resolution for the external monitor.
The last time it did this ( a year or so ago), I installed a new video driver and it solved the problem. This time, there is no newer video driver available and I can't figure out what it needs so that it will see the external monitor when it boots.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

disable windows 10 automatic drivers update
install Intel drivers software updatehttp://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
let it find the latest drivers then download the graphic driver but don't install it.
from device manager, right click the Intel display adapter and choose to uninstall software too.
reboot and install the downloaded driver

Thank you - I appreciate the step-by-step advice. It all went well until I tried to download the Intel driver - then I got this message. Not sure where to go from here? Is it safe to uninstall the current driver before trying to download this? Thanks again.

download the exe file, uninstall the previous driver as i wrote, reboot and install the downloaded drivers.

I thank you very much for all your help, I was able to get the new driver installed. However, it didn't solve the original problem, that is, the computer still didn't recognize the HDMI input this morning and booted up in low resolution.
Would you happen to have any other ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks
