Aspire E5-575G - has two display adapters?

I bougth the E5-575G from Best Buy and one of the features was the Nvidia 940MX. However, I see two display adapters in the Device Manager: Intel HD graphics and Nvidia 940MX.

I keep removing the Intel display adapter but it keeps coming back after a reboot.

How do I set the Nvidia as the default adapter? Is this possible?

You don't want to remove the Intel one.   The computer uses the Integrated intel adapter for normal 2d tasks and uses the NVidia for high-demand tasks.  It is a power-saving scheme.

So, any 3D stuff (WebGL, Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, etc) will be sent to the Nvidia display adapter automatically?

I don't claim to know the details but that's the idea.

I only came across the answer as apparently with the incorrect drivers on a Linux operating system, it defaults to the Nvidia adapter exclusively and you get much worse battery life.
