I added a second HDD to my Acer Aspire M3201 and it is not detected
Hi everyone i have an Acer Aspire M3201 and i added a 2nd HDD which is a 250 gb drive and my system is not detecting it.I cannot see it in Computer but i can see it in the BIOS.In computer management the disc does not show up except in disk 5 it shows (basic)232.89gb online.In the box it shows 489 mb,healthy,active,primary.Next to this is( 232.41 free space)I will give whatever data is neccessary.

Ok i sent you 2 screenshots:
The 1st shot is of Disc 5 with 232.89gb online(This is the disk in question(problem disk)as you can see on computer mngmnt it does'nt show up like the disk i have labeled as (My acer c drive)this is 500gb and it's the disk i am running windows 7.I have no problems with this disk.The only place i can see the the problem disk is in the bios.Let me know what else you may need.

I sent you a screenshot of the device mgr.I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it or enabled it to no avail so i thought i would mention this.

Thanks for your kind words.
on disk5, right click the 487mb partition and choose to delete volume, now you will have the whole HDD marked as free space.
now right click the free space and choose to format it, NTFS is ok, let it format and automatically assign a letter.
once done, you will be able to use it normally.
