Acer Aspire VN7-591G Clock Speed Issue

My laptop is experiencing extremely low clock speeds as low as 0.21GHz on normal loads such as web browsing which makes everything on the laptop stutter and extremely slow. Gaming is currently out of the question. The temperatures are the same as before. Regular temperatures for this laptop are quite high as reported by acer. It didn't use to happen before but now it does, really inconveniencing the performance and now allowing me to game which is the purpose of this laptop. Temps are about the same as i used to experience before, just the clock speed is MUCH MUCH lower now.

Check your BIOS version and if it's lower than 1.15, update it:

to check BIOS version:

windows logo key + r

type

msinfo32

check BIOS DATE/Version string

The BIOS is V1.15

have you already checked on windows advanced power options, the processor maximum state?

power options

click on change plan settings (check settings on both battery and AC plugged plans)

click on advanced power options

scroll to Processore power management

Maximum processor state must be 100%

It was always at 100%.

minimum at 100% is not good, low it to 10-20%

if you are still having issue, try to re-install Acer power management:
