[Iconia Tab A500] Android logo blinks - OS doesn't run

Recently my Android started to misbehave. I noticed it hangs too often (even on Desktop screen). I removed most of programs from it, still the same problem (using it just for internet). Also, in some programs, screen blinks too fast (even if I make brighrness 100%), so I just uninstall them also.

But just around two days ago Android (I am not sure if it is precisely A500, but seems to be like this one https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acer_Iconia_Tab_A500 - with Android 4.0.x on it, with camera) just "went to unconscious state".

So I pressed and holded a power button, as I usually did. And it turned of. Pressed power button again - and it showed ACER Logo, then Android Logo. I noticed strange, unusual behaviour: Android Logo blinks. It looks like OS starts loading, but then some problem happens inside of device or/and its software (boot/loader system or whatever it can be). So it somehow is restarting automatically this "Android logo showing program"...

Hm. I let this my Android device just do what it wants to do: I didn't do anything and just waited what will happen: will it boot? I left it running over nught, and in the morning result was the same: it still was unable to run... Still Android Logo blinking (once in a few/several seconds)...

What I have to do to "reincarnate"/"ressurect" my Acer device?

Please help

try a factory reset, you will loose all your data:

    http://www.hardreset.info/devices/acer/acer-a500-iconia-tab/

if it's still not able to boot, can be an hardware issue.

Well, thank you for a link, I followed it, read it and tried to do all the methods (except inside OS - it does't run) in the text and in video forms...

    What I did:

    0. I set switch (screen lock) closer to power button (no red color on switch visible)

    1. I Press and hold Power + Volume up

    2. When it vibrated, at the same time I released power button and toggled the switch (switched two times: turned it red, and back).

    3. It somehow seemed again to reset / vibrated again.

Finally, Android logo was not blinking as before, and new screen appeared:

    ":

    Welcome

    -------

    Select language: (English etc)

    Select country: (Ukraine etc)

    Start"

    ----

    "

but start means what? I am afraid it will erase/format all memory?

we have some imporatnt file on this device, so I connecet it to USB port on PC. But I saw only almost blank A500 - just around 12,4 of 12,7 GBytes free... Almost free memory...

Did it erased/formatted already? I wanted to copy something from it...

maybe I first have to go to some Acer service center to copy files from device?

I live in Ukraine, Kiev. Any ACER  service center here? (to copy files from tablet to dvd etc?)

i wrote you that following that instructions, you will loose all your personal data (wipe device), so you already deleted all your personal files.

by the way, with the tablet in that conditions, you were not be able to recover anything.

right now your are doing the first settings as the device was new from factory.

all right. but I want to ask:

    1) Can I update Android OS here on my device to newer version?

    2) How to root it? Is there need? I want to use some dns server to block blacklisted sites like pronography and to block ads (these are connected often). So root is necessary for this kind of firewalls etc

    1) the latest official versions are on Acer support website

    2) we are not allowed to talk about rooting on this board

if you need non official OS, the only good source is xda forum.
