White dots randomly flashing on screen Aspire R

Periodically I get white dots that flash on the screen in various spots.  They will appear and quickly disappear, regardless of the program I am using.  Anyone have this problem and a fix?

  Sounds like a hardware problem with the LCD panel. Please contact Acer support from the info posted here:

  Found that it only happens when the power cable is plugged in!  I had a fast and helpful chat with an Acer service rep and they are sending out a replacement power cable.  Thanks!
