Hello,

I have a Aspire F 15 notebook, in the product page it is said that the wirelesse adapter is 802.AC compliant, but i cannot see my 5Ghz network, any one with this problem ?

Using Windows 10 and the device is listed as a Atheros AR956X adapter.

Is Acer lying or the information in the product page is wrong ?

    Hi,

Could you please go to Device manager(right click windows logo in Taskbar), expand Network adapters, right click your WiFi select Properties, in Advanced tab select Preferred band and check in the drop down menu.

    Hello,

There is no such option in the advanced tab:

Note that the device is different from yours (QCA9377 vs AR956x).

    Hi,

Go to Wireless mode Selection(at the bottom in same window), can you check whether it shows as 802.11 a/b/g, if not change to 802.11 a/b/g from drop down menu.

    802.1a is not listed.

The problem is, this notebook is listed as a 802.1 AC compliant, but i think that is false.

    Hi,

Do you have a router capable of AC? It could also be a driver problem, could you please find the version of current driver from Device Manager and post here.

    EDIT:

I am sorry to report, the card could be a Single band card, in that case, you may have to change the card, as it's a brand new laptop, try upgrade it under warranty from Acer Care centre in your region.

Yes my router is AC capable, i can connect using others devices.

Aparently the problem is that this card is not AC compliant, the support team told me that all the models come with intel wlan card, but it is not the case for my notebook (it is using a qualcom device). I am waiting for a new contact from the support team.
