Hi,

please help!

Brand new, out of the box Acer One 10 laptop for xmas (lucky me) running off windows 10.

However the touchscreen has never worked - I've searched everywhere to see if this is a common issue but have found nothing... I've run the windows updates as suggested in other places and i get an error with one

- Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3205386) - Error 0x80010108

I'm not sure if its missing a driver??? I'm not tech savvy....

thanks in advance for any help it is appreciated, i need the device to work as a tablet as well as just a laptop!

Fire up Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. There should be an entry for your touchscreen (something like HID-complient touch screen). Let us know if it has an exclamation point, the color of that, or if it's missing entirely. IIRC a '!' means the driver can't start due to errors, '!' means the driver is having issues after starting and no entry means the system doesn't een think a touch screen is there.

hi billsey, there is no exclamation point and the driver mentioned is up to date as the latest version.

it's going to be returned for repair / replacement tomorrow :-(

    thanks anyway!
