Hi,
Go to Device Manager, right click Wi-Fi adapter, select Properties, under Power Management tab untick the box for "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". HTH.

Hi,
Could you please tell us the make and model of your wifi card, the driver currently installed. Have you tried different DNS server address?

Thans for all your help.
Qualcomm Atheros AR956x
Driver supplied by qualcomm date 2016/02/27 version 3.02.201
Added notes
The network identifies as dlinklow and shows that there is an internet connection.
There is a second computer that connects to the network just fine and the printer which is also on that network prints from other devices like my phone and tablet just fine.
If this computer drops the network connection, which seems to occur after 1 or 2 days, and I try to manually connect then I get the message 'Cannot connect to network' and I have to reboot. Resetting the WiFi access point doesn't help.
This is a windows 10 system.

Hi,
Go to settings, Network and Internet, select WiFi from left pane, click manage known networks, if you see any networks belong to you, click them and select "Forget". This may stop your system trying to connect to neighbours' networks.
EDIT: You could try the drivers from Station-Drivers as well, their drivers work well and a trusted site but please back up your current driver, in case if you need it.

I seem to have solved the issue. I went through the repair process having planned to uninstall and reinstall and the repair seems to have fixed the issue.
