Aspire Z1-621G constantly loses its ethernet internet connection
My Aspire Z1-621G constantly & continually loses its ethernet internet connection. I can see the network icon flicker on/off in the sys-tray. The connection typically drops so briefly that I cannot get any results with the troubleshooter. Wireless connection works fine, by the way.
I have a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller with (I believe) the latest drivers: 10.12.1007.2016, dated 10/07/2016.
Other than a faulty cable (which I've already switched out), any idea what is wrong? If the problem persists, is it possible to cheaply replace the internet controller on these all-in-one PCs?

I've also noticed that if I have the Device Manager window open, it 'flickers' and resets itself several times whenever I lose the ethernet connection. But I never see any red X on any of the items listed there.

ok, thank for the report.
let's try updating the LAN drivers:
download the Win10 Auto Installation Program and run it.
if you still have disconnection, try to update BIOS:
browse inside WIN folder and run
FB_WIN.bat

I just finished updating the network controller drivers (turns out they were current) and the BIOS (it took the update). After the restart about 15 minutes ago, the ethernet connection appears to be stable for now. I'll observe for 24 hours and report back again.
Thank you very much, sir!

Well, disregard my last message. The connection status is back to intermittent. It drops and then restores itself after a few seconds, even if I am not doing anything on the computer. Nuts! Any other ideas?

you already changed the cable so...have you tried another port on your router/modem?

I just switched the port...let me see how it goes over the next couple hours. Thanks.

Brief update ... switching my ethernet cable to a different port on router/modem seemed to solve the problem! I will continue to watch for a recurrence of problem, but so far so good. Apparently there was nothing wrong with my Acer computer after all.
Thank you very much!
