Will my new Aspire V3-575G-786A support the Windows 10 anniversary update?

It does note appear on Acer's list of supported models.

If it does not, why doesn't it and will it ever?

Acer did not qualify Windows 10 on this model. We would not recommend using Windows 10 if at all possible, nor the Anniversary update as we cannot guarantee functionality by using this operating system.

That answer is rather strange and baffling - "Acer did not qualify Windows 10 on this model. We would not recommend using Windows 10 if at all possible, ...........".

The unit came, purchased direct from Acer, with Windows 10 already loaded (plus a lot of 'rubbbish').

    Thinks:

Is Acer selling, direct, items that are obsolete; is Acer not keeping up with progress; is Acer selling products 'loaded' with an OS they dont recommend; does the 'Acer Crew' talk to other depts of Acer?????????

As a matter of interest - since posting my question, whilst absent from the laptop, Windows 10 Anniversary update automatically downloaded and installed, as Mirco$oft updates now do, there have been no problems of any kind since.

  • Hi John,

I also have an unsupported model(E1-571) but it works fine with OS drivers and some older Win8/8.1 drivers,

I think that Acer will not provide any future driver supprt for these models.

    Hi brummyfan2,

Thanks for your interest and reply on this topic.

If it is true that Acer will not provide any future driver support for these models I think it is very 'sharp practice' for them to be still selling them (purchased mine in October direct from them) when Windows 10, in its various forms, is now the 'standard Windows OS', and has been now for over 14 months.

Despite the answer yesterday from Acer-Mary "Acer crew" that Windows 10 OS was not recommended for my model my system was manufactured in May 2016 and had Windows 10 Home 64bit installed.

Following this contradictory answer I had a long, at times confusing, 'on-line chat' with an Acer support agent. He would not confirm or deny that Acer would nolonger be providing driver support but he did catagorically state that there would be no problems using Windows 10 drivers, or even 8/8.1, as we have both now found out.

I have to say that the answers from both "Acer crew" and on-line support do not fill me with confidence in either Acer's customer support, or due to the date of my (direct) purchase on Acer's selling practices.

    Hi JohnPen,

My apologies for the misinformation- I checked the list of Windows 10 supported models and this was not on the list. That list was for older models that shipped with Windows 8 or earlier. I realize now this model did in fact ship with Windows 10 from factory therefore should be compatible with the Windows 10 Anniversary update.

Sorry again for the incorrect information!
