You can use virtually any size stick that's big enough for the boot routine and dos files. So 4, 8 & 16GB sticks are fine and really cheap these days. Most have activity LEDs. Doesn't matter if FAT can't access the whole stick --- it'll simply use what it can.

I'm not sure if the BIOS chip, if it's NOT fried, is capable of executing the flash process the way the DOS files are organized on crisis or boot stick. We may have to tweak this. That's another reason why it's handy to have an activity LED on the stick to see if anything's happening.

I agree, USB stick with an activity LED would be a lot helpful.

I'll get back to you when I'm done with the process.

Kaq: Open notepad and enter these three lines.

    echo

    set UMAROM=107.WPH

    phlash16 /x /s /c /mode=3 %UMAROM%

Then save the file as AUTOEXEC.BAT and add it to the other DOS files in the crisis stck's root directory. Make sure notepad doesn't save the file as AUTOEXEC.BAT.TXT. If it does, just rename it to AUTOEXEC.BAT.

Got the 4Gb USB stick with an activity LED.

Carried out all the steps as you suggested.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any activity on USB stick.
