Hi!

Here are the story: Last night I wanted to start the laptop but the battery were flat, so I plugged it in and startet it up, when I was finished I pulled out the AC and the PC stopped immediately, so it stayed plugged in the AC over night and when I started it today the power light turned on but nothing else. To stop it I need to hold powerbutton for some seconds. So I hope and belive it is the BIOS that are wrong? Where can I download a new BIOS that I can flash through USB?

Please help me! Smiley Happy

  • Hi,

It's not a good idea to flash BIOS while the laptop not functioning normally, you need to find out what's wrong with it and rectify, have you tried resetting the battery? http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset

    OK, why not?

I do not know what the problem was, but I opened the laptop and tried it with another RAM stick and removed the clock battery, and started it, noting happened. Set back the old ram stick, and removed the battery again, hooked it all together to wait for more tips from you, and then it started again.

I hope the problem is gone forever, but I have no idea what was wrong Smiley Happy

BTW, shuld i update the BIOS to the new verson?

And to other people out there with this laptop: I recomend you to change the harddrive with an SSD, the computer boots in like 8 seconds, and the battery last for about 10 hours Smiley Happy

  • Glad to hear that you got it sorted, it could have been the RAM stick was not seated properly/became loose, I don't think you need to update BIOS but if you want to update anyway, please prepare a BIOS recovery USB and get used to recovery methods for your model, there's an outside chance of bricking your laptop.
