insyde bios password reset

Hi, I have a Acer Aspire 4830TG. I once had set a boot up password in bios. I wanted to remove it, so I set it to null (as in many applications). Bad decision! Now i cannot boot this laptop at all, stop immediately upon power up with "Enter Current Password". Hitting enter (accept null passwd) does not work. So i am completely locked out.

Any ideas welcome.

    Good day

You have to send it to Acer for a password removal with a possible charge.

What do they do that I can't? Thats the missing puzzle. I have to travel in 3 days so cant afford the time to send it in. The info I need is BIOS re-flash. ACER are just as human, so  what I need is procedure/steps/software rather than them simply saying send it in, pay us $99!

If NULL is not acceptable password, good software should not allow it to be set. In this case,  ithought I was removing the BIOS password, only to brick myself. How many ppl will be  falling into this trap and be told to send it in to ACER for $99 charges?????

    Good day

If you forgot the bios password that you have set there before, you have to send the machine to Acer, unless if you buy a new mainboard which will cost you about 5-8 times more than just to get the bios password removed.

Most acer laptops have a way to flash the bios in 'crisis mode'. If you go onto the acer support website and download the dos based flash update in the readme file it should tell you how to do a crisis update of the bios.
