normally this appears when resolution or refresh rate is out of monitor range.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    so how to  refresh rate

    under windows 7 - 8.1

right click on your desktop and choose screen resolution

set a very basic resolution like 1280x1024 @ 60Hz (frequency can be set under advanced options); you need to have a working monitor to set this and then reboot connecting your al1916w.

if it still gives you that message, can be a bad cable or some hardware monitor issue.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    so strange.

need to check the minimum resolution that monitor can handle, maybe it's too low or wrong frequency.

I know how to fix that during the screen on(like the VGA or RGB cable is connected and the monitor is on showing the thing and error message saying input not supported)I think it's because of the graphics when you reinstall windows,it will be because the graphic is from Microsoft windows please download Microsoft net 4.0

Please update your computer after downloading Microsoft net 4.0.

If you don't no, here are the steps after downloading Microsoft net 4.0.

Start > Control Panel > Search Windows Update > Click check for updates
