How do I change my name on Left Page?

I am logged into Acer home as myself but the wrong name (previous user) is showing in Left Page when I click on the hamburger menu. I don't want to use it anyway but apparently you can't disable it so I at least want to change my name to be correct; yet it's not an option in Settings and tapping on the name or surrounding area does nothing. Can't seem to find any answers in the FAQ or here. Any ideas?

Is there anywhere else in Acer where the name or other personal information/settings are set independent of the account which is logged in? I really don't want the previous owners information anywhere in my phone and doing a factory reset at this point would be a huge pain.

    Try this:

open Contact application, check the first contact (must be Personal Informations or Me or something similar) check if it contains infos of the older owner, if so, just edit or delete this account.

i tested on my Zest Plus and that email is related to name/email of the personal contact information.

was your smartphone resetted before you logged in?

    what's your smartphone model?

have you checked under settings - Accounts; if any of the old owner accounts are listed?

I'm not sure what kind of "reset" you're thinking of but a factory reset would have wiped out all of the previous data, I did not do this and as I stated, I'd rather avoid it. I did delete their previous account logins and replace them with my own.

    It's a Liquid 630, Android 5.1

Yes. As I said, I'm logged into Acer under my own account. I have also logged into Google etc which shouldn't be relevant to this but no, there are no other accounts which the old user is logged into - unless there is a way to be logged into them without them being listed under Settings -> Accounts.

Acer Left Page doesn't show up under the applications drawer nor in Settings -> Apps and from Googling it seems to be a part of Acer Home so I tried Settings -> Apps -> Acer Home and "Clear Data" and that cleared all my home page settings (lol, oh well) and reset everything in Left Page... but not the name.

normally when a phone change owner, it must be wiped (factory reset) so all the data is deleted and no issue like yours will appear.

i'm still thinking where this name can be stored.

Yes, generally I would do a factory reset to protect the previous owner's privacy and allow me to go through all the initial setup myself. If you want the backstory; I initially borrowed this one on a temporary basis from a family member who tried it for about week and decided they didn't like it, but my old phone packed it in completely so now I'm keeping this one. I could do a factory reset and reinstall all my apps, re-enter all my logins, etc but this is a lot of work for little reason since it was a family member and they barely touched it before handing it over to me.

Frankly the fact that the phone changed hands is irrelevant. There must be a way to change this setting. What if I had a typo in my name or I got married and changed my name? I'm supposed to do a factory reset to fix it?

Anyway thanks for looking into it, I can't seem to figure out where it is getting this name from. I've reset basically everything I can think of, gone through all the settings. I'm stumped.

as left page, you mean the one with the various social media and news?

sorry for asking but i had some Acer smartphones here and i'm trying to understand which version is installed on Z630.

on Apps list, do you have a Liquid home too?

To clarify, in Settings -> Apps I have "Acer Liquid Home" (see link above) which I was previously refering to as "Acer Home", updated to the latest version (2.10.2019). Most of the screenshots on that Play Store page are of the "Left Page" feature. I also have Acer Portal and AcerEXTEND which I believe are unrelated.

This is the screen I'm talking about where the name (presented here as an e-mail address) is incorrect.
