hello, I keep getting a nagging message about updating my Acer Iconia one B3-A20 tablet but it wont complete the update fully/sucessfully - I get the message in the top action bar saying there is an update of around 300mb and I let it download from the internet and then it says "install and reboot update" and i do that and then the tablet reboots and the green robot comes up as it goes into recovery and then yellow writing at bottom of screen says something about could not update zip and then something about google apk and then all I can do is select 'reboot' from the menu, and then when the tablet reboots a message comes up saying update failed and then it asks me to download the update from the top bar again. Have tried it 3 times and I have factory reset, still cannot get the tablet to perform this update. any help thanks.

Can you please report build number and image version installed on your tablet?

I had the same problem. I finally had to send mine in for repair. Once I got ti back, it went thru some updates and finally I am at the most current RC07. If you are in warranty, this might be your best bet!

hello thanks for reply, it says build number Acer_AV0L0_B3-A20B_0.007.00_WW_GEN1 and Image Version: Acer_AV0L0_B3-A20B_RV00RC07_WW_GEN1

    Thanks

yours is  the B3-A20B model, not B3-A20.

as wrote by the other user, if you are under warranty give Acer support service a call.

er ok thanks, Whats the difference between the B3-A20 and B3-A20B ... apart from the B then? , thanks?

regional market, as far as i know, so hardware wise...no difference.

Hmm, thats going to be difficult returning it under warranty, Bought it second-hand off ebay then rooted it so that I could install a DPI changer so I could enlarge the display for my shoddy eyesite.

Surely there has to be another way to get it sorted rather than send it away? - if not I will have to just ignore the update message and carry on using it as is.

    wait...you said rooted?

that's why the update didn't install, Acer update will never install under rooted devices and un-rooting sometimes doesn't solve it.

the main issue is the missing download for an OS image, so you can't revert.

(there's one but it's for the non B model)

Ah right, thank you for your reply - ah so that could be it then because its rooted . Ah well I guess I will have to put up with not being able to ever update this tablet then.Thats a shame.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction - I wonder if I would brick my B3-A20B by loading this B3-A20 ROM, if by what you say is identical hardware but just different region? - what do you (or someone else) reckon?

if this image has a version check, it will abort automatically without installing, if not i think it will work...let's say 99% but it's up to you.

I dont think the Scatter.txt file works in this download. When I try to load the included scatter.txt file in the zip a message comes up saying "scatter file invalid"
