Hi. I recently bought an Acer Aspire R14,

On my old desktop I used to play with the special characters all the time, mostly for the Acute symbol  (ALT 130), but now I just can't figure out how to do it on my Acer.

can you help please ?  what the trick?

thanks

stef.

If you are referring to , for instance the number 1 next to the letter J,  I have them; they are blue on my keyboard.

but in MS words 2016, If I wana write a é, and do the ctl alt 1,3,0 with the blue numbers ( the normal white number on top won't do anything )  there a popup window showing up and it doesn't work...

so for web it's clt alt 1,3,0 blue,, and for ms words it's alt x like you said , or  in world, insert, symbol, special caracters...

    your link was a winner

    thanks again man

On my R3 you hold down Alt-Fn and press the blue numbers (blue 6 is on the O (oh not zero) key. 66 is a capital B.

Thats odd, on all of my netbooks it is fn-alt-(string) not ctrl-alt-string.

    Hi herbeapuce,

Wow! So you type in French like this. MG this must be long and tedious. I would buy a little French BT keyboard.
