Hey guys,

I recently purchased an Acer XB241H and it arrived today and I am having some problems with getting 144Hz or above to work on this monitor. Right now the only option i can see is the 60 Hz option on both Nvidia control panel and through windows by right clicking screen resolution.

I initally tried connecting the original DP cabale to my GTX970 but I realised my gtx970 only comes with a mini display port. As a result i went out immediately and purchased a Display port to mini display port and it does come up with a display. However I am unable to reach more than 60hz. The drop down box on both windos and Nvidia control panel are both only 60Hz.

I have tried:

  • Updating the drivers of the monitor
  • Updating my Graphics card drivers
  • Restarting my computer
  • Restarting my monitor
  • Replugging in the DP cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i purchased this monitor to play games at 144Hz but I am only able to reach 60 Hz. Also I have tried overclocking the monitor to 160-180Hz but it still remains at only 60hz.  Thank you.

    Things you can try

    1.  Download the monitor driver from Acer Support and install it through Device Manager.   This should work as the .inf file tells windows all the supported refresh rates and they should appear in the drop down list.

    2. Display Driver Uninstaller.

    3. Delete all monitor resolution entries in the registry with CRU

I'd be surprised if none of these worked.
