Spoke too soon. In sleep since this afternoon and while at church. Opened the lid, signed in, and no internet-- invalid ip address. Had to reboot. Too bad.

    pdnRPH,

I have an Acer desktop.  I have a Qualcomm/Atheros wifi/bluetooth module.  I have the same bug that you have.  I'm assuming it's a Windows 10 Anniversary bug or Qualcom/Atheros driver bug.....or a combination of both.  As Philetus said, It's probably a Microsoft Anniversary bug.

However, I reset my PC and I'm not having the bug right now.  It has not appeared since the other day.  I'm not sure what triggers the bug.  I'm not sure if my reset will be a permanent solution or if the bug will resurface.  Since my other Acer desktop has the same Qualcomm/Atherors module, and is unaffected, this may just be a fluke bug.......that can be resolved by an OS reset. But not sure.

Thank you for showing all those links. A reset is NOT in the picture. Acer has had over a year to fix all of this. Too bad. Interestingly, since I did a bios update, I did check the Atheros Qualcomm and the bluetooth usb for driver updates. Both did an update. We will see if this makes a difference.

Atheros qualcomm: from driver 12.0.0.116 to 4.0.2.217 dated 2/25/16, and the bluetooth usb from 10.0.0.116 to 10.0.0.256.

Ok.  Hopefully your new BIOS and drivers will fix it.

If for some reason it doesn't, I'm going to give you one last suggestion just in case our bugs are not the same.

Turn off Wifi sense (if you haven't already).
