Just got a reburbished Acer V5-473P-5602 from Acer. The battery is at 14% and will not charge. If I unplug the power cord, it shuts down. I've installed all windows updates.

Please share any ideas.

Thanks,

Andy

    Hi Andy,

Please try to uninstall & reinstall Battery driver under device manager,. if that does not work you may need contact techs for hardware failure.

In this case, you can generate your battery report by referring to the instructions mentioned on the following link and check if there is any issue with the battery performance:
    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/laptop/3512126/fix-laptop-battery-life-issues/

Now, try the below mentioned steps:
    1. Shutdown your laptop, then plug-off the power adapter, and then remove the battery from your laptop.
    2. Now, keep the Power button on your laptop gently pressed for around 40 seconds.
    3. Reconnect the power adapter without inserting the battery.
    4. Power On the laptop.
    5. Once you are into Windows, Shut it down again.
    6. Now, remove the power adapter, then reseat the battery, then reconnect the power adapter, and then reboot again.

If the issue still persists, you may try recalibrating your laptop's battery. To know more about this, you can refer to the following Acer support pages:
    http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11574/~/how-do-i-calibrate-my-battery%3F

If the issue still persists, there may be some issue with your battery. It is recommended to try using a spare battery (if possible) or contact nearest Acer Service Center for further assistance. This link can be useful:

    Hope this will help you.

I am experiencing the same issue, with the same exact model. Purchased mine Christmas 2014 through Amazon Marketplace from Acer. Now as of April 2015, the battery is completely non-functional. None of the suggested solutions work because the computer is completely non-functional once AC power is removed.

Sounds like a problem that may need a class-action solution if Acer doesn't provide any better solutions.

how come a brand new battery for a brand new laptop dies in just about one year!  i regreted i tried Acer last aug.

my own HP laptop has been working for more than  4 years, recently I upgraded it to win 10, it still works fine.
