incorrect model number/looping WIFI authentication

I have an Acer Iconia A500. When I go to Device Information is shows that my model is A200. I have also been having problems with my Wifi. It just keeps looping. I don't want to have to do a factory reset. I also went on the support/patches but didn't see a patch for WIFI. I have had my tablet exactly 1 year. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Teri

You may try loading the latest wireless driver from http://www.acer.com, to see if it resolves your wireless issue. In regards to the incorrect model, does the computer still transfer files to the device without problems?

I don't transfer files. I download apps from the App Store and things like Kindle and Nook. How do I transfer the new file to my tablet?

And my wifi works fine on all our smartphones and computers and laptop.

Did you load the latest driver for your wireless? Why are you downloading the apps to the computer instead of directly to the tablet?

I don't use my computer with my tablet at all. I download directly to my tablet. So even though my wifi works fine on all my other devices it could be a problem with my wifi?

Ok. Sorry, I was unclear as to what problem you were experiencing. So, you are stating that the device information for your tablet states that it is an A200, and not an A500? If that is the case, it sounds as if a different ROM has been loaded to the device.  If that is the case, I don't think a reset of the device will even fix it. You would need to contact Acer support for your region to inquire about sending your system for service, to have the software restored.
