Unusable Touchpad after windows 10 anniversary update

I have Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG and after windows 10 anniversary update, the touch is so laggy that it is unusable. (Window 10 Hme x64)

The touchpad so laggy that it's literally unusable.

Tried updating the driver via acer download and Microsoft and uninstall/reinstallig the driver.

It seems to be a common issue for E5-575G-53VG with elan tek touchpad.

Try uninstalling the driver completely and reboot.

Windows will install the generic driver and you will have a working touchpad. Not a fancy one, but a touchpad.

  • You could also try any Win 8/8.1 drivers designated for similar models( E5-573G.E5-574G etc).

    Hello everyone,

We’re aware of the touchpad issues after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and we are working on a solution.  I know it’s not the ideal solution but in the meantime we do recommend changing the precision touchpad settings in the BIOS to Basic, this will disable multi-gestures but will improve the touchpad responsiveness.  I will update this thread once we have a solution for this issue.

    Thanks.

It has now been over a month that a helpful reply has been posted about this problem that has been around for several months.

@Acer-Jose, we, the hopeful clientele, would appreciate an update.

  • Precision Touchpad is very sensitive and need a slight touch than either Synaptics or Elantech, if any of you have problem with it, switch to Basic from Advanced in BIOS, then reboot and switch back to Advanced, go to settings and switch off unused function and see whether it helps, I have switched off two finger pinch to zoom, make sure that you don't switch off Touchpad( red circled in the snip below).

In addition, learn about the functions of gestures explained in the link below.

Seriously can't believe Acer is getting away with this nonsense. Not even a "we're working on it" to put us off for another month...
