How do you get games to use G-Sync? I have tested 2 games, Warframe and DC Univerise, both stay at 60fps. When I disable V-Sync they get frame rates 100+ but with major tearing. G-Sync is on in the nvidia control panal. I have a 1080 wit the newest drivers. Thank you.

What did you expect? The maximum refresh rate for this monitor is 60Hz.

Gsync allows for tear-free experince at frame rates *below maximum*. Try to run the game that runs below 60FPS.

Thank you for the reply. I am learning now that G-Sync is not much different the V-Sync. I also play Black Desert and at 4k I do not get close to 60Hz and it looks no different with or witout G-Sync.

Maybe you are just not sensitive to motion fluidity.

I definitely notice that without G-sync below 60FPS motion becomes "stuttery" as frame rate fluctuates. With G-sync its buttery smooth at any frame rate.

BTW its easy to check that G-sync working - enable monitor FPS counter.

If it goes below 60Hz, this means G-sync is working and monitor refreshes at variable rate (that its showing).

If you disable G-sync, you should always see "60".

In older games that already give 60 fps, would the frame rate still still drop below 60? In Black desert the monitors refresh rate goes is between 25 - 35 and it is smooth. In Warframe I get a solid 60. So in games that already give 60 G-Sync is not being used?

Yes, at maximum FPS G-sync has absolutely no effect and it exactly as with V-sync.

But even if game almost always runs at 60FPS, sometimes rarely when something complex comes to view (like, lot of explosions, etc), FPS could briefly "dip". With V-sync you should notice some "stutter" and motion briefly jittering. With G-sync it remains smooth so unless you have FPS counter on screen you may not even realize FPS dipped.
