Aspire V7n-592G Audio issue
Hi all, hoping someone has an idea to help out here.
Within the last week the following issue has started:
After a reboot the audio levels are fine. 50% is super loud like it used to be when I first got this laptop. Once I adjust the levels either up or down (via slider, fn+volume, etc) the audio immediatly cuts the sound down like 50%. I could adjust it to 49 and it would be half volume. I can hear almost nothing at volume of say 20. This is for everything from windows sounds to web content to stored content.
Seems to me to be software related. I have the dolby package that came with the OS, and also the Realtek HD software (90% sure it came with the build out as well).
I would think maybe re-installing those or removing them one at a time to see if that was the cause would make sense but I cannot seem to find where I could find them (or look for updates for them).
Anyway any thoughts on what the fix may be or where I can find the software would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
While our members are generally eager to provide useful information, be advised that Acer does not validate third party external links for downloads and is not responsible for them.

Hi,
If you download the drivers from the acer webpage (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers ) in the archive there are 2 folders called DS1 and PCEE4. In these folders you will find the installation files for Dolby digital Plus and dobly home theater.
If you install these probably it will solve your problem.

I have got exactly the same issue as Brumven user (described above). Once I adjust sound volume, I can't hear anything from the speakers once I drop the volume below 20%.
I'm using realtek driver 6.0.1.7801 installed by windows.

I found a temporary workaround.
I connected the laptop to my external Samsung monitor via hdmi. Go to sound and set Realtek speakers as Default sound device and default communications device.
Disconnect hdmi cable and reboot. Volume should work below 20%.

Microsoft support offered me this solution:
Just roll back to the previous driver and run their troubleshoot program and block Windows from auto updating the realtek audio driver.

Please try that solution and post back here feedback. I tried this and the original driver from acer gave me BSOD after every restart.

Did you manually update to the anniversary version? If so, you're stucked with that realtek 7801 audio driver.

I did a clean install of the Win 10 x64 1607 AU.
