No sound on tv when connected via HDMI cable acer r11 on Windows 10

Member Posts: 4 New User

I used to be able to connect my r11 to the TV and get sound.  For some reason, this has now stopped.  I have been through all the forums and tried various options to no avail.

Go to Control Panel>Sound>Playback and see if the right output device is selected.

There is only one device shown (High Definition Audio Device).  When I connect to a different TV it works first time!  I have tried both HDMI sockets on the TV (LG).

This appears to have been resolved after I reinstalled a previous version of Realtek and ignored the updated version.

this is a problem with the audio driver.go to Maintenance troubleshooting in Windows and go to trouble shooting audio playback. It will playback some sounds. Wait till you get the choice of Microsoft HD audio driver and then select that. Worked for me. Good luck.

Thanks!  I had already done that but discovered (by accident) that reinstalling the Realtek drivers in an earlier version worked too.  Still seems fine - fingers crossed!
