Aspire Z100_U3072 no user manuals availablebut have recently learned this computer has (had) an  TV Tuner option that seems to have been a high secret.......is there one available? Certainly will not pay an Acer Tech by the minute to find out.

    Please read this:
    http://community.acer.com/t5/Community-KB/Where-can-I-find-information-about-my-Acer-Product/ta-p/37951

I'm not sure how it was a "high secret" when the information is on the specifications page:

    http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/2010/acer/aspire/AspireZ3100/AspireZ3100sp2.shtml

Here is the information on the cards we had available in certain models:
Avermedia H753-A Kit TV Tuner Card PCIe Hybrid ATSC     TU.10500.066
Avermedia H753-D Kit TV Tuner Card PCIe Hybrid DVB-T    TU.10500.067

Acer-Tommy....purchased the Z3100-U3072 open box at a good price and very pleased but obviously all the manuals and other useful info wasn't included. Sorry if i sounded snippy!

Am still up a creek....cannot find any response for the Avermedia H753....is ther Z3100 so out dated? Already?

Am very pleased with the Z3100 but on a fixed budget cannot afford to go into anyhthing more recent.

Would still like to get TV reception.....can you recomend anyhthing?

The Z3100 originally shipped in 2010, so is about three years old.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to recommend any particular third party software or hardware.

If you are unable to find the parts that we shipped above, you may want to look at external USB tuners.

Best of luck in finding exactly what you're looking for.

Tommy-still tryin'......the NVIDIA card on the Z3100 doesn't pass the test for installing a tv tuner.....is there any way to replace it. I've changed boards and added memory on some old computers but am hesitant about opening up something as compact as the Z3100.........eff

    Well ... complicated answer.

Is it possible to replace the video card?  It appears to be possible.

However, it would not be supported by Acer.

It is a complicated process to get TO the video card assembly in the system.

I'm not sure what you mean by "bypass the graphics card."

You have to have some means of display in the system.

I can understand the frustration of wanting to do something but not getting direct assistance.

I'm similarly restricted, but from the other side.

Completely dissatisfied.......i was told the only way around the problem was to by-pass the NVidia thats buried in the Z3100 and use the only slot availalbe to install a new one and than add to the cost by purchasing a tv tuner...cheaper to buy a tv set!  But then can hopefully sell this piece of junk and buy something thats more user friendly.

    Thanks for nothing........
