I believe I found the webcam, but can't open. I don't know if I should download a new one or use an old clip on USB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have looked and can't find the driver as well.

Thanks

If you are talking about the intergrated camera, go to device manager, then press "Imaging Devices" and tell me if you find a device called, "HD Camera" or whatever is in there, and then check if there is a yellow warning ! or red X.

If it shows in there with no other cameras plugged in, without error ! or X, then it is working. But what made it look like to you that the camera doesn't work?

Hey Thanks for responding. I have tried that and there are no imaging at all. I should tell you I am a retired engineering tech. I went to device manager and it is there, got to web cam and it says it working. I even went to c drive/ windows and found Miracast. I clicked on it, nothing. I pinned it, clicked on it and still nothing. I didn't see an

executable file. This is where I am at, do you think you have an answer?

    Thanks

Usually, these intergrated Webcams have a pre-set driver and are not modifiable software-wise. But did you try switching the camera in the program you use, or try going to the Start menu, and type in "Camera" and open the application, and it should see if the camera is functioning properly. If not, you need to call Acer support probably.

I think I found problem. I upgraded from 8.1 to 10. It is supposed to open ie. IE was tucked away and I pinned it to the task bar. It opened, but there was nothing onthe page. So now I am scratching my head thinking I am just going to use my usb camera device. I have tried to figure out what and if I need a driver or drivers, but device manager says its working. I even changed the opening app, but I didn't have many options. I will work on finding the problem later today. It's just so darn frustrating

Now I am wondering if I should change the default browser to IE. Maybe I have the wrong version of IE. Oh computers, I started out with MS Dos. Its hard to keep up with technology, it's moving so fast.

IE got replaced by Microsoft Edge, I think you have to reinstall it to work though.

I know edge replaced IE, but it was still in apps under Windows accessories. I was able to open it and surf. I forgot to check what version, but I will. I have been to Microsoft support, but couldn't find if there is a particular version of IE is required for Windows 10. I was think of uninstalling it and reinstalling. I also was thinking of going back to 8.1. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?
    Thank you

It should be version 11. And I don't think you can uninstall it, setting it up as a default browser is easy, here are the instructions for Windows 10. Windows 8.1 is depending on your personal choice of what you like, but it is still a free upgrade, and it is still fixing its problems.

Go to Settings(App) -> System -> Default Apps -> Web Browser -> Click IE.

For your webcam, you need to call Acer support.

I never figured out DOS, but it does seem intresting that we still all rely on it.

If you need more help, just ask.

Thanks, but I knew that as I stated above
Thank you for responding. Tomorrow I will contact Acer support.
When they help me fix this, I will let you know how it was done, so you can put it in your tool box.
