I dont know what to do, i bought this laptop it says 4 gb of memory when i looked at the specs it says 3.88 available and i had nothing installed. It is beyond slow to the point of it being useless and i really don't want it, it's been like this for the 2 month's i bought it. i have reset it 3 times still the same, too slow i ran an antivirus scan, downloaded antivirus for it thinking it was a virus , shows no virus. i can use it for anything. now on skype it freezes and the bottom icons disappear

Sir, the laptop has 4GB of memory, however, some of the memory is reserved for the OS and other hardware, as well as its own data and every company in the bussiness does this, rest assured. Please check Task Manager and open programs you usually use, and check what makes the computer so slow, and also, tell me what you notice visually in detail so I can find a definitive solution for you.

However, opening too many programs at once may slow the laptop, especially if you open a demanding application and a browser.

I thank you for your help but what it does is hard to explain, skype freezes, i have either internet explorer open or chrome and skype and maybe you tube is that too much i have noticed it slow with just the chrome open. also i had installed office mostly for my wife to use publisher for her job and i had to remove it since it would not work properly since it kept freezing.

I am being offered an online position since there's no jobs here and i am afraid this pc won't take the load.

    thanks

    Jose.

Instead of using Chrome, try Firefox to see if it lightens the load. Also, it would be great if you can open up Task Manager and check what programs are using a lot of the Memory or CPU, I need to know the top three diffrent applications that use the highest resources, and while you do so, do what you usually do on this laptop, and we can see what we can do.
