If yours look like @ 3:40 in the video below, you don't have a CD/DVD drive installed.

Mine is slightly different from the one in the video.Mine is windows 10 home ..and mine has a non removable battery ..mine has a button switch and mine is 1000Gb HDD0

If you have the button like in the snip, press it and it should open.
You could also go to Device manager and find out the make of your DVD drive and check whether it's installed.

Thanks but that's what I'm talking about. I don't have that button..but I see the shape of the drive0

Then it's a dummy cover and you don't have the DVD drive installed, you can install a second hard drive with a suitable caddy or buy a DVD drive and install, you may have to remove a screw at the back cover to remove the cover.

Do you see a light when you press the button?
If yes then you might have a slight jam. There should be a hole or maybe 2 try getting a needle and try pushing with a bit of pressure as this is a manual override to open.

Hi,
If there's no button, most probably you don't have a DVD drive in your laptop, could you please post the model number.

I can't open the DVD drive on mine either. It's E5-575-72N3 . The tech opened the drive when I first got the laptop and then we closed it. I haven't been able to open it since!0

I have an Acer Aspire E15 Start, first I also thought that I had an dvd/cd rom and I could not open it. I asked it at Acer and they wrote an e-mail that it was a dummy!!!! So no dvd-player....I wanted to know why but I did not get an answer.....Why a dummy, and not the real thing.0

Aspire E5-575-72N3 is shipped with a dummy ODD (black plastic part) so no DVD drive.
