After upgrading to Windows 10 the built-in microphone of my Aspire M5-581TG is not recognised by the op. system.

The Realtek microphone drivers are there and, according to the Device Manager, are operational but the mic does not work.

Is there any way to make it work again?

When you say your Mic isn't Recognised by Windows 10 is that what your Notifacation window has said? Or is this something you are thinking because your Mic isn't working at the moment?

I ask because you said you have looked under Hardware and it shows it is working fine?

Next have you right clicked on the speaker in the bottom right of the screen and went to Recording Devices? In there like right now my system says it is not connected (cause it isn't seeing I am using my Desktop and don't have a Mic on it right now) Does it show that it is there? If it does maybe there is a little box that you can turn it on and off with. maybe at this time it is clicked off.

    Hope something here helps some

I have the same problem. I cannot find recognition of the internal microphone. All drivers are current. I don't really know what else to try other than having to purchase an external microphone which I should not have to do.

I too have the same problem. Service engineer formatted my pc and reinstalled windows. Now my inbuilt microphone is not working, although the speaker is working fine. Realtek audio drivers are installed. On recording devices, "Microphone array Realtek high definition audio device" is showing connected. Please provide a solution.
I think acer's service is one of the worst in the world. I someday found out that my acer predator g3-573 's camera is not working(I had never used the camera before). Th error was " Windows can't find out the camera" . I checked for the driver in 'device manager'. As "according to windows", the device was not connected, no driver was visible naturally, although, "HD CAMERA" driver showed when "show hidden devices" option was checked in 'view menu' as for windows the device was not connected. I tried to contact acer service centre through phone. They registered a complaint and provided me with a caseID and assigned a service provider. I found out that acer provides only third party service. After personally contacting the service provider, a service engineer came(with seemingly very less knowledge as he was seeking advice from a person through call), and tried to find a driver for camera("He would have thought the driver was missing"). Shame on acer that there is "no camera driver at acer's website". He had a hard time searching for a driver which he could not found. On his second visit, through remote access another person tried to find a driver. He also, could not find one. Then he finally agreed, that it was a hardware problem. After a 'frustrating' wait for many days, he replaced the camera and found out that the camera was broken. Shame on acer, "They are selling laptops with broken components". Then also the camera was not working. He said that there might be problem in wire and that he will replace it. Then came the long wait. I contacted acer and the service provider many times to come and complete the task. But they did not came. I moved back to my college. So I told acer to provide me service at the new place. And the 'foolish' reply was " You have to contact the service provider and tell him to change the location as they can't even change the location". I tried to change the location, but the service provider did not change the location and told me to cancel the case and register a new case. So, I did as he said after confirming from the acer call center. This time they allocated a different service provider which never tried to contact me. The case was automatically cancelled. After complaining a lot many times to ACER, registering the case many times, calling the many numbers and service provider "to atleast hear a voice" day and night like a dog, and getting so many fake assurances from the ACER CALL CENTERS, I was finally able to hear the voice of service provider(who was unwilling to provide me service at my location). The case was again automatically cancelled and I filed a new case. This time he told that he will come. He came after 10-15 days and tried to find out the problem(whether hardware or sofware). He even opened the body of laptop and connections. But he can't figure out the exact problem although he thought that it might be a hardware problem. I told him about the previous service provider and his false promise to change the camera wire. So he agreed and told, "We will try changing the wire". The case was closed and I quickly registered a new case about "the camera not working". And I don't know what the service engineer did, after his departure when I restarted my laptops, "Alas! the keyboard is not working". I told told the service provider about the case quickly. After, that I contacted contacted the service provider daily for continuous 8 days requesting to repair "atleast the keyboard".I also contacted Acer service center out of anger Finally he came(also with camera cable) and formatted and reinstalled windows(which did have preinstalled acer softwares). The camera was not working even after the cable was replaced. He was trying to install bios, which was unable able to install after the windows reinstall. He didn't give me a receipt that day. Now after his departure, when I started my laptop my microphone is not working.
