Screenshot_2016-01-25-12-45-30.pngHi bought this tablet a couple of days ago and kept getting system memory low warnings. I'd only put a couple of apps on myself (Facebook, eBay, messenger). Any way I'm constantly been getting this message even when I've only had a browser page open so today I restored to the manufacturer settings and not added one thing but have already had the message again a few times. Has anyone any ideas whats going on please I need help surely it shouldn't be doing this on a brand new tablet? This picture is my memory use with just google chrome open with no other apps etc open. Thanks in advance :-)

I am having the exact same problem with my b3 a20. I'm not impressed that I can't run chrome with out "running low on memory ". Acer should address this problem considering chrome is pre-installed on the device

You have plenty of storage so the problem must be system memory. You can only free up memory by closing running applications.

I understand that the only way to free up memory is by closing running applications. I think the problem is the system doctor is sending out notifications at to low of a threshold. I personally feel the tablet runs fast with %70-80 ram usage. The problem is there is no way of adjusting the limits or to disable the system doctor notifications all together. And the system doctor reads ram usage differently than when I check ram via settings-apps-running. When I check ram via apps it usually shows 50% ram free compared to 25% free from system doctor.

    Edit

I'm not sure how to add screen shots to this post or I could show you the significant difference.

Have checked my version of tablet and is: ACER_AVOLO_B3_A20_3.006.00_WW_GEN1 running on Android 5.1.

So come on Acer - a fix please!

Man Mad I agree ! Acer needs to fix the memory issue ! I installed a 128 gb SD card and it's frustrating that it's still giving me the Low Memory notification when I have PLENTY of memory on my SD card and also there's no way to move internal memory items over to my SD card to try to lighten the memory space. I've tried file manager and connecting the tablet to my PC. If the internal memory wasn't so full maybe it'd run a little smoother.

So I say again ACER! What are you going to do about it? I cannot take it back to the shop because it is a software issue. So please sort it!!!!

Acer is not going to do anything about this. They don't seem to care about this device or customer service at all in my humble opinion. My answer to the problem is simply to ignore the low memory notification, the device does run fast even though it says it's low on ram. The notification is just a permanent part of my drop down menu now and doesn't bother me at all. Just ignore it unless it runs slow then tap to optimize. I personally haven't optimized it since I first got it and it runs pretty good for me considering its a budget friendly unit.

System Doctor is an application that will notify you when there are apps running in the background that can be optimized to improve the performance of the tablet - ignoring this notification will not have adverse reaction on the unit.  You can dismiss it if you wish, or leave it in the notification area for later use.

Thanks Acer-Jose. It begs the point as to why it is installed? I have spoken to 3 separate Acer 'helpline' personnel and the latest thing is to send it back for 'repair' but that if it is a software issue I could end up paying for something that is less than a month old! Not going to happen! Acer need to get rid of this and/or apply a fix.

System Doctor is pretty much useless ! I have hit optimize when the System Doctor notification comes up and all it does it after hitting optimize more just pops right back up. I'd be an old bity if I sat their hitting optimize waiting for it to clear because it won't. Soon as I hit optimize it just all comes back. Also this is a bit off-topic but anyone else having issues with charge time taking so long ? It takes me 3-4 hrs for my tablet to reach 100% charged !! I'm using the charging cable and ac adapter that came with my tablet but having to wait all day for it to get fully charged is a bit ridiculous being I've only had this tablet for a couple months.
