Hi, I keep getting this error message pop up when i start up my laptop.

Along with this problem i am also having constant issues with the laptop freezing. The cursor still moves around but i can not click anything or close anything. It just doesnt do anything at all.

Then i get the circle going round like its loading then it freezes completely.

I have to hold in the power button to shut down and start again.

It then repeats the process usually 3 or 4 times and then the laptop works fine for a while.

This particular laptop has been nothing but problems from the start. We bought it brand new and have had it returned to the shop on 3 seperate occasions for various issues.

The first being the frozen cursor issue which was resolved.

Second time was for the same reason as now and also the third time was for this reason,

Nobody seems to be able to figure out what is happening.

Why does my laptop keep freezing to the point i have to hold th epower button in to switch it off.

What is the message above?

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me resolve this.

    Hi,

So I am curious if you will still get the error from the first post, after uninstalling the Acer portal.

However, further suggestions I don't have based on the information which you gave me.

After you have a hang on the system and you restart try to run this command from start

    eventvwr.msc

This will bring up the event viewer. Here on the left look in the windows logs, at application and system. Try to see if you have a warning or error message which happened at around the time of system hang. If you have you can write here what is about or you can figure out if this is relevant or not in the crashing of the system. But I don't know if the problem will be recorded in the event viewer.

Also please be sure that you have the latest drivers installed. Especially the intel management engine.

Also be sure you have the latest BIOS installed.

    Download

On the webpage there is also a touchpad firmware from synaptics which should fix some touchpad issues in windows 10. I don't know if you need that or not. You can check these on http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers by writing/searching for your notebook model.

If any of this don't help you try to boot in safe mode to see if the system will hang in the safe mode. However the experience in safemode will not be very greatSmiley Happy

To do this go to start ---> click on power--->hold down shift and press restart---> After restart from the list of options select trubleshoot---> Advanced options---> Startup settings --->and then restart.

After restart select the safe mode with networking (by pressing 5). Try to work for a while in safe mode to see if the system will hang.

Also, I see that you have a lot of sofware installed from acer. If you don't use them you can safely uninstall abphoto, Acer explorer, Acer explorer agent, Both Acer User experience improvement, and as well AOP Framework (which is used by acer portal). I don't know what to say about the other software from acer. If you will uninstall some of the sofware which I did not mention here, it is possible that some power plans, or some keyboard shortcuts will not work.

    Hi,

Do you use acer portal software? If not try to uninstall it, it looks like the error message which you posted comes from this software.

If you don't have it in the uninstall list, could you tell me what acer softwares are in the Add or remove programs from windows?

    Hi thanks for the reply.

I have attached a screenshot of all the acer programmes in the add remove section.

And also out of shot of the screenshot is "AOP Framework Acer Incorporated"

I found the Acer Portal and removed it.

Restarted my Laptop and it crashed again just trying to write out this post so i had to hold in the power button again.

If there is anything else you could suggest im ready to try it out.

    Thanks again
