Acer Aspire XC-603 / Graphics / Win10
Hi,
I have a an XC-603 desktop with an Intel(r) HD Graphics driver, the box is running Win10. I'm experiencing various issues related to the graphics drivers:
1. When I turn the screen off and leave the speakers the sound heard when a USB device is unplugged is periodically heard over and over.
2. When the screen has been left off for a few hours all desktop icon positions are lost
3. Periodically and out of the blue the screen turns itself off and a message tells me there is no signal If I hit space or the power button on my screen it turns back on.
4. I now have a green line lining down the length of my screen
Has anyone else experienced any issues similar to this, seems the driver doesn't support Win10 very well.

3 and 4 seems more a bad video cable than drivers issue.
about 1, it's pretty strange apart if your monitor has USB ports too.
which kind of monitor and video cable are you using?

Hi,
The monitor is a 24" IPS LG:

The cable is an HDMI - I've checked that the connection is good.
I have two items plugged in the deskptop's front USB's, I've unplugged these and the problem still persisits.
Thanks.

One thing you can try is to re-install Intel VGA drivers:
windows logo key + x
Device manager
click on display adapters
rigth click the Intel VGA and choose to uninstall and tick to uninstall software too
once done reboot and let windows update re-install drivers
check if your issue is still here.
can you please report BIOS version too?
windows logo key + r
msinfo32
report Bios version/DATE string

I've tried re-installing the driver and then letting Windows update, it installs a slightly newer version than the driver listed on the Acer support site. Neither problem fixes the issue though.
The bios my machine is running is: P11-A1L, 06/01/2014
Thanks.

Do you have another HDMI cable to try?
i would try to refresh windows 10 too:

choose to keep your personal files.
if the issue persist, i suspect and hardware issue, mostly on intel VGA or Intel Chipset (USB sound)

I tried another HDMI cable which hasn't made a difference.
The green line is now runs permanatly down my screen, so I guess it's a hardware fault?

one last thing to try, prior to be sure it's an hardware issue, is to refresh/reset windows 10, so it will be back to stock settings and drivers.

if the issue persist, probably it's an hardware issue.
