I have an Acer 5253-BZ849-Win7/64,  about two months ago I started up my laptop and had a red X down on my connected icon, I opened it up to see what was  happening, ...there is no yellow icon with an exclamation point...the only thing there is my ethernet adapter. I had used it the night before and had a normal shutdown, so I couldn't imagine what happened. I looked in the device manager and there wasn't even an adapter for it anymore. I can still use my wired ethernet, that adapter is there and functioning. I will list all I have done so time doesn't get wasted repeating past things that did not work.

*Tried to install device drivers from Acer site

*Tried to get drivers from card site, but it's confusing and I am not sure which to use so I did not try these from Atheros. It's confusing because it says Atheros and it says Broadcom I just don't know which to use.???

*Tried doing the safe mode thing

*Reinstalled win7 I saw it load the wireless but it still did not work

So now I am using a USB wireless and I really hate it and although it does it does what it is suppose too, it's very slow and hangs out of the side. Have to be careful not to bump or break it.

When I tried to load the drivers from the Acer site for wireless, (Atheros_9.2.0.439_Win7x86x64) it gave me an error message saying there is no wireless card...that I need to "Plug it in"  SO...I opened it and I think I see the card there I pushed on it to try to...'reseat' it...which did nothing...

*I know the wireless signal is working from my router because I use it on another wireless device I have (I Phone)

I am really, really, Praying and hoping and praying some more that someone....ANYONE can help me with this. This laptop is just a year old, it really hasn't seen much usage, which is why this is so weird. Any help will be so very Greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time

So then if you have no idea why your Acer stuff stops functioning and you don't bother helping when your laptops ***** out...is the answer then just don't buy Acer...is that the solution to this....or what...just ignore the customer long enough and they'll just,.."Go Away!" Could it be that you don't know why this happened,  how many different ways do I have to ask for help.....how many times do I have to ask,  how many posts just simply do not even get answered How many times do I have to BEG for some help, I didn't have to beg when I bought it....I certainly didn't beg you to take my money....but now I must beg to get answers as to why what bought from you has ceased working the way it was promised to me that it would work. How about a bit of assistance.

Did you get to the bottom of this, as I have exactly the same problem with an Aspire 5810TG?
