Hello guys,

I need your expert advice.

I have the following type of Acer laptop :

Acer Aspire4810tzg414g32Mn
model nr MS2271

Bought from Amazon.co.uk.

Right after I left the warranty period it broke down big time. The simptom is... that nothing starts, no led lights up, no fan nothing, and yes I have checked there is no problem with the power cords or such.

I took it to a service near me and they told me there is something fried inside the motherboard but they cant tell exactly what since they have no proper schematics. I also asked for a qotation from an official ACER service in Romania (where I'm from). They asked for a replacement motherboard 800 EUROS+ TAXES ... OMG!. This is more the the computer itself costed when it was new. So I need to take the porblem into my hands. I have average skills in debuging pcs and I have opend/debugged some old school laptops myself.

Given the model I posted above, I need some additional information:

1. Does anyone has the Motherboard schematics.

2. Does anyone knows which is the correct motherboard model/partnumber and from where can I order a new one.

3. Is it possible to be something else broken than the motherboard

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide mainboard schematics. Without inspecting the board, it is not possible to diagnose what may be wrong with the board. I would recommend you contact Acer support for your region to inquire about setting your unit up for service.

You are better off purchasing a new laptop my friend. Laptop system boards are never cheap and if you were to purchase a "compatible" one, there would be all sorts of driver and setup issues that would make that option a massive headache.

    You are all right guys,

I contacted allready my regional ACER support, which btw has verry bad reviews, and they told me that the replacement motherboard and the repair costs, GUESS WHAT: MORE THAN THE ENTIRE LAPTOP when it was new.

Anyways, in the meantime I have tried some local guys skilled in laptops troubleshooting and they managed to improve a little bit the situation. After some trade tricks + bios reflashing, they managed to make my laptop power up, however after about 5s or so, it resets, and the screen never shows anything.

    Any suggestions on this data?
