Acer Predator XB271HU Disconnecting

My wife's PC is dying so I put together a new build for myself and will hand down my current PC to her. I included the Acer Predator XB271HU as the new rig will be a dedicated gaming PC. The monitor arrived today and, excited to use it, I hooked it up to my current rig.

I started by plugging it in via the DisplayPort. The monitor worked fine for 10-15 minutes. Then, while watching a stream, it shut off after the computer made the sound it makes when a peripheral (like a USB stick) is disconnected. The power light stayed on, and the computer seemed to still be on but the monitor was black. I connected my old Acer P235H via DVI and saw I was correct so I shut down the computer, switched the Predator to HDMI, and started it back up. Just like before, working fine for a while... tried opening The Division and it went black again with the same sound, blue power light still on. Another cycle of shut down, disconnect, reconnect, and start back up via DisplayPort connection. The monitor stayed on for about 15-30 minutes during which time I played a quick round of CS:GO and logged into The Division but then it went black again while checking my email. Drivers are up to date; thought about wire being an issue but had the same problem with both HDMI and DisplayPort.

I tried calling Acer, explained the problem to them, and basically got no help other than "send it back to where you bought it from" without any attempts to diagnose or troubleshoot the problem.

Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Are you able to test it using another PC?

just to double check if it's a monitor issue.

have you tried to power off the monitor, disconnect HDMI or DP, plug it again and turn on monitor again? (with your PC powered on)

if you still get a black screen after a while, i would contact the seller.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

I don't have another PC to test it on, but the parts for my new rig should be here within the next week or so. I'll give it a go on that new system and see if I have the same issue.

And yes, I tried the power off monitor and disconnect/reconnect with PC powered on but still went black screen after a while.

I think you can contact your seller, looks like an hardware issue.

I sent it back and received a new one. I tried everything without success. Must've been a bad unit.
