I've connected my tablet to a computer with Windows 10 using a USB to MicroUSB cable and nothing shows up in Windows Explorer.  I've also gone to the support Acer website for this tablet but I cannot see any USB driver to download.

How can I connect my tablet ACER ICONIA TAB 8 W1-810  to a computer with a cable?

They really aren't designed to be connected with USB, USB is mostly for server-client connections, not server-server. If you want to transfer files it's easiest either just copying them over the network or using a thumb drive.

I am having the same problem.  My other Acer products link to my laptop with a cable.  Why not this?

    How do I transfer files?

I am guessing your other products are Android tablets? They are not USB masters, so can look like a thumb drive when you connect them to your computer, just as you would do for a phone. To copy files between two Windows computers you usually use the network, Google Windows Homegroup for more info on getting that setup the easiest way. If you don't want to use the network, plug a male microUSB to female USB adapter cable into the W1 and plug a regular thumb drive into that. You can copy files to the drive, move the drive to another computer and copy files back off.
