I went through the process of removing and then replacing the battery with boots and shutdowns
That solved the issue of not charging. However after several hours there is still 0% available. Aspire One model A0756
If this is not the correct board, which one is?

Look very closely at the small battery status icon in the system tray when it's plugged in. What do you see? And what does it say when you click on the icon?

OK. Try unplugging the charger to see if Windows shuts down. If it still runs, let it continue to run unplugged till it either reports a low battery warning or automatically shuts down. If you get a low battery warning, then plug the charger back in. Report back.

It shuts down instantly.

OK. Since Windows recognizes when the charger is plugged in, it likely a defective battery or its built-in chip monitor rather than the charge. However, just to be sure, if you have a voltmeter check if the charger plug output is greater than 15v. If so, order a new battery from Amazon for about $20 with free shipping. Just search for "aspire one 756" in all departments on the Amazon site.

Thanks for your help. I have ordered a new battery from Amazon. Sadly here in Canada the price is $42.99 which is around $33 US. C'est la vie.

Sorry. I didn't know. May be too late now but if you google "aspire one 756" "battery", there were other options that might've been less costly for you. I think it's still possible to cancel the Amazon order if it hasn't been shipped yet.
Sorry again
