Disc drive not responding - Acer E5-511
Hello, I've had the notebook for approximately 18 months, the disc drive has worked fine up to last week when suddenly it stopped responding altogether. I've tried the usual methods, the paperclip manual method works to eject the disc but once pushed back in it returns to no response again. Right click and eject from the menu does not work. Are there any other methods I can try or does it seem like a hardware issue? Thanks for any replies...!

Open a command prompt as Administrator and type or paste
reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
Reboot

Thanks the for the link, i feel better following instructions - feel slightly more in control!
Unfortunately nothing happened, i'm guessing it must be a hardware issue?
