Aspire E5-521-625B updating after move to Windows 10

Most of the times that I restart the laptop, all of the desktop icons are moved over to the left-hand side of the desktop.  This appears to only happen on the desktop of the user that was running BEFORE the restart.

According to Google, this is a widespread Windows problem that goes back several versions of Windows but someone may have found a solution for the us.

I arrange the icons and do several "Refresh"'s.  Then a shutdown, wait a few minutes, then a clean start.  Most times, all of the icons will be on the left side of the desktop - sometimes they are fine.  All of my icons are medium size - I don't know if their size would go to that default value if they were set for a different size.  This only happens to the desktop of the user that requested the shutdown.

Anybody have a solution?

A second message.  First of all, I messed up when I wrote the first message - I am working on a VS-575T, NOT an E5.

Second - I had already found the option on the themes page but I only had it turned off for one of the two user accounts that I am working on!  It is now off on both of them but I don't think it made any difference.

Third - I have some new input.  I found a reference to "DesktopOK" on Google.  This little program - which does not install - lets you save a particular icon arrangement.  Then, when you call it up again, you can restore that arrangement.  Works great EXCEPT - now when I even switch accounts (control-alt-delete), the icons all go to the left margin!  Yes, DesktopOK easily puts them back where they belong but every time?  Before I used this program, I only had the problem on cold startups.

One big note here.  That little program is not installed.  Once you run it to restore your icons and then kill it, it is gone.  Why do the icons then change every time I switch user accounts?  The program can't be in memory and messing up the switch.  I think that there might be a clue here.  A program that isn't even in memory is changing the action during user switches?  (I am going to test to see if "Refresh" after I restore the icons to their proper location can "lock" them in so that they don't change in the next switch.  If it does lock them in, I will make another post within 10 minutes.)

There is no VS-575T. There is a V3-575T.

This sounds like another Windows 10 glitch. Create a new user account, switch everything to that account and delete the old account.

In reply, I agree that this is a Windows glitch.  According to Google, it appears to go back at least to Windows 7.

Now your request to create a new user account and "switch everything".  I don't have any idea how to do that!  The only thing that is wrong is that the title of this whole thread should refer to V3-575T, not E5-521-625B.  Can you change that for me, please?

I can't do it. Go to your first post and click the gear in the upper right and choose edit.

Someone on another site said this solved the problem for them.

Go to Settings/Accounts/click Family and other users.

Click Add someone else, click I don't have this persons sign in, Click Add a user without a Microsoft Account.

Fill in a user name and click Next, Click new user account, change account type and make it Administrator.

Next, Go to start and click your user name, Click the new user. Now it will switch to new user account and Windows 10 will set it up.

Go to C:/Users,, click on your old user and click continue. Click on Desktop and copy all. Go to new desktop and paste. Reboot and see if they all moved to the left.
