My motherboard : http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=589&MenuID=16&LanID=9

See CPU section please! Pentium D 9xx says C1 !

I bought Pentium D 945: SL9QQ BX80553945 D0 N/A 95 W (Step is D0!)

when I inserted it in my motherboard it works but i couldn't install windows XP or 10 (now I must try Win 7), Win XP says: the bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant /// Win 10 shows error every time with different files missing and setup can't continue (maybe damaged iso)

my problems is that what Win XP says, that ACPI thing, does that mean that I need BIOS update? or it is because I didn't use proper CPU with C1 stepping, my CPU has D0 stepping. I can't figure out it's because steppings or BIOS update,

see this Intel Ark below for more Pentium D steppings info

If there is a bios update for the computer, install it. If that doesn't fix it, then the Processor isn't compatable with something in the system. Have you tried Intel driver update tool to see if it finds anything that the new CPU needs?

I figured it out. CPU is compotible and it works good. it was faulty RAM slot/RAM issue, i removed memory from one slot and everything works fine... PC doesn't work good if both slots are filled... of course Pd 945 works !

The memory issue could be that the Physical Address Extensions in the Memory Specifications  for the processor are 32 Bit.
