Acer A1-830 App crashing no fix no matter what?

Hi community. I am having the first real problem with my tablet and its one I can't fix on my own no matter what. It was a great tablet untill now. Its the DoubleDown Casino play store/Facebook app. It was working perfectly since I got my tablet some 4 months ago until the other day when I was having a problem launching the app, as it wouldn't load a page on the site and frooze. So I figured I'd do an update from play store. Well it updated but when I went to open app I got a message in a simple small box stating" unfortunately DoubleDown casino has stopped"  I went online and tried every remedy suggested like, clear cache etc then did uninstall/reinstall then a factory reset, but still problem plagues tablet. Contacted App vender and sent crash report to Google as well. Some notable (in my opinion) things crash report contained were - System app - False and Crash exception class name - java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError.  What this means I haven't the foggiest and internet has little to offer for a non-tech like me. Thanks for any help and suggestions????

UnsatisfiedLinkError is thrown when a program tries to load a custom library and the library either doesn't exist of exists womewhere it's not looking. Sure sounds like an issue with the app itself and not with the base OS, but you might have a corrupted OS load. There doesn't seem to be an OS image for the A1-830 on the support site. You might be able to get a download link for the OS from Acer Support though. Back your data up before trying a reinstall of the OS as everything will be wiped.

Thanks for the advice. The problems are getting worse by the minute and I think I have a virus, hacked phised whatever because when I try to enter text as in gmail accts login page it corrupts and replaces what I've typed into the box with different text similar but insulting language, I can't believe it as I thought android OS was almost bullet proof secure, How did they corrupt the factory backup on the device, they must have because this is the 3rd time i had to do a factory reset to even make it somewhat usable, but its still corrupt unreal,  people need to be informed about this blatent secirity breach they seem to so easily perform on us unsuspecting kit Kat owners, wow.

...So I'm convinced its a corrupted OS FOR SURE. Thanks again I will need to reinstall a new undamaged Kit Kat 4.4. Not sure how to do it at all or even where to find one, you say Acer support hmm. Im more of an intermediate windows user but I'll give it a go as I have no choice now. Thanks again, and kudos.????

Checked Acer Support Recovery media is no longer available for the serial number you entered

So thats out of the question for a fix. Guess Ill need to find third party alternatives. What a useless Support Centre Acer. I bought this pos tablet only 4 months ago!!! Goodbye and good riddence.

Hi Bill-My last post wasn't directed at you in any way, but I'm upset with Acer Support as it is basically a new tablet I bought only 4 months ago and the OS is only warrantied for 3 of course and they don't offer any OS image, but the Brickware is covered for a year, lol, typical. I found this Spanish Acer Support site that has a Rom Flash, In your opinion is it worth giving a try or will/might/probably be left with a completely bricked tablet if it doesn't go well, or? Thanks again. http://community.acer.com/t5/Tablets-Android/Solución-Brickeo-A1-830/td-p/285410

A ROM image from the Spanish site will only work for thr Spanish version of the tablet. You should still be under warranty, so I'd contact Acer Support and ask if they can get you the image so that you don't have to send it in. They don't typically put the images on the support site unless they're doing an update. If the virus (and yes, there are plenty of them for Android) has corrupted the recovery image then the only real solution is to reflash with the original image.

Curious, did you side load any app? If you've been just getting Apps from the Google Play Store you shouldn't have been bit... If we knew which app caused the issue then it'd be easier to warn others about it.

Hi - I never installed any other apps other than from the play store, none. I read somewhere that even the play store apps may contain malware. I'm wondering if one of the bloatware apps that came with the tablet might have went rouge as it seems they're in a never ending update cycle and I only used a few like evernote, two weather ones and abdocs. I wil ask Acer, never knew they might provide one. Thanks again.

If all your apps have either come with the initial build or from the Play Store, then you likely got infected either through a malicious web site or an email attachment. Smiley Sad

Yup, who knows, the web is like a billabong and you never know if an alligator is getting ready to bite untill you feel it.
