Hi !

I was wondering if this is normal for Acer notebooks. Apparently, they do not support all the more recent sleep states, that skylake CPUs currently allow like connected standby etc

If I open a command prompt and question the currently available sleep states, I get the following:

powercfg /a

The following sleep states are available on this system:
Standby (S3)
Hibernate
Hybrid Sleep
Fast Startup

The following sleep states are not available on this system:
Standby (S1)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.

Standby (S2)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.

Standby (S0 Low Power Idle)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.

Kinda disappointing, dont you think? The BIOS is up to date. I wonder, why Acer is not supporting connected standby for instance. It would probably help with battey life and offer better wakeup options. Currently, if the system goes to sleep I always have to longpress the power button for the system to wake up, which always takes quite a bit before I can continue working.

That looks correct except you should only need to tap the power button, at least on my Acer.

Yeah. The Powerbutton is kinda hard to press though.

Still, I wonder why Acer doesnt support modern Sleep states ....
