Installed the new version of Predator Sense (1.00.3002)  through Acer Care Center. Program never progresses past the Logo screen. Any idea where I might obtain the old version? Chatted with Predator Chat to no avail. Thanks.

Where there any other changes made to your PC in that timeframe?  As much as I love Windows 10 I have noticed some programs that I have messing up after updates and system file changes lately, it's annoying.  Doing a restore doesn't take that long in all honesty and you can always un-do it, it can help trouble shoot.

I agree, it's never fun to have to do things like that but hey, it happens from time to time.  I haven't had any issues with the updated version of PS personally.  Something I do when I want to make sure something is gone is I go into the directory and delete the install folder (after the initial uninstall), then go into the registry (only due this if you know what you are doing) and search for "folders" in there to dump out which helps give you a more "clean" install.

Again, if you are adventurous or know what you are doing, you can type regedit in the search bar and search in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE thread, usually following the Software / Microsoft threads, find any Predator Sense folders and delete them.  You can also do a search using CTRL & F to see what it can find.  This has helped me install a few things in Win10 that wouldn't upgrade like the issue you are having.

I'm on my work PC now so I can't say for sure what the folders would say, but I can update when I'm home later unless someone can beat me to it.  Either way I hope you figure this out.

Have tried un-installing and reinstalling without success. Since version 3002 fails, I'll try 3001 and let you know.

3001 will not install; ends with an OS version error. Sigh.

    Hi oregongamer,

I would suggest uninstalling the Predator Sense software completely from the control panel and then downloading the most up to date version on the website. 1.00.3002

Predator Sense Acer Predator Sense 1.00.3002 67.7 MB 2016/01/08

    Download

Unfortunately, if you continue to get errors, I think the next option would be to do a system restore and then try and perform the upgrade. I tested 3002 on our predator without issue and I was able to successfully uninstall it and reinstall it from our drivers and manuals page that I linked above.

Let us know how this goes for you.

    Thanks,
    Cory

Thanks for the response. I refuse to go to the extreme measure of doing a system restore to get an optional application to run. If this is the only option, I'll use third-party overclocking software. Predator Sense ran fine until I downloaded and installed the new version. Others, beware.

First, thank you for a helpful and thoughful response. I used regedit to "clean" the hive of PS stuff (technical, eh?). I deleted all references to PS (folders, files) through File Explorer search. Checked the various system management logs for problems -- none found. Downloaded and re-installed PS; same result.

So, it's Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for me.

Darn, hoped that was it Smiley Sad  No problem at all, just wish that worked for you.  Let me know how that app works, I might check it out.  I have a few programs that did the same thing to me since the last big W10 update and I still have yet to get them to work.  Luckily it's not an important program haha.

Good luck and take it easy!

I have used this overclocking utility in the past. It can be a bit complex to set-up (though there is excellent forum support). I set up a few profiles for the overclock I want. I suspect the advantage to using PS is that Acer won't have a warranty problem from overclocking. Good luck on trying it.

Umm YA!  I'm totally having the same issue.  This has been going on for a month yet no fix.?.  Shame on Acer, lets get to it guys.  pretty much the exact same issue.  I'm glad i read this forumn first.  It saves a lot of heachache to trying to figure this out, There probably is no figuring it out until an effective and improved PS software is made available.  Thanksd for sharing guys.

I had the same issue and what resolved it for me was to download the installation file from Acer website directly. Auto-update is not working because it's downloading a wrong version (for 32 bit Windows) but what i needed is a 64 bit version

I too have not had PredatorSense work since the "upgrade". All I get is the startup screen. I have tried removing the program completely and reinstalling the new version to no avail. All I get is the PredatorSense logo screen.

Is Acer unable to create a program that will work on a G6-710 Desktop???

On a side issue with this, there must have been an update with the Predator Sense software. I am sure when I first got my rig, I could boost the CPU by just pressing the Turbo Button. But now the Growler lights and Button just pulse. Now I have found out that you have to have the Sensor software open to allow this process.

Now when you open up the software and the centre screen eventually opens up, on the left is a button to turn off the Growler light( if you wish). On the right side is the Fan, Cpu speeds and temperatures.

Importantly now in the center is three buttons marked, Normal, Faster and Turbo. On the Top is the CPU speed . Now when I press the Turbo button on the rig with the programme open, the Button highlight moves to the faster button and the Clockspeed display goes up to above 4300 . The growler lights stays on now with no pulsing.

If you want the Turbo mode just click on it and the Speed should now approach 4500 on the speed display.

Just click on X to dismiss the programme and carry on as normal with your speed boost. I left a short cut to the task bar for easy access in future.

Sorry for jumpin in here but I nearly took mine back because it thought it was faulty. I cannot find any Data which instructs on this. Hope this will help somebody.

I got my GX-792 (i7-7820HK) working! Looks as though there is a problem that Predator Sense sees the CPU as locked.

Here is what I did (I don't know if all these steps are needed but these are what I did):

    Download and install Intel XTU

Close ALL Programs (there will be a forced restart ahead)

    1. Open C:\ProgramData\OEM\Predator Sense

    Capture.PNG

    2. Copy/Overwrite i7-7820HK all *.xtu into i7-6820HK

    3. Open Turbo.xtu with Intel XTU (it should fail and give error about importing profile)

    4. Using Intel XTU > Advanced Tuning > Move "Reference Clock" slider to the minimum > Tick "Force Reboot" and Apply

    Capture.PNGCapture.PNG

    5. Computer will reboot immediately

    6. Open Intel XTU and see a warning message, you will now see ALOT more options

    7. Open Predator Sense

    8. Success!
