Dear Acer Users,

I would like to equip my Aspire E5-771G-71PT with a 256GB Samsung 950 Pro SSD. The Mainboard Model reported by CPU-Z is EA70_HB (0x000001D6 - 0x00548742).

Does the PCIe-NVMe interface provide the 4 PCIe channels at full speed or is it capped as reported by http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/Why-is-the-M2-PCIE-slot-speed-capped-to-1-5GBs-VN7-592G-71ZL/td-p/394275 for this VN7-592G-71ZL model?

Does anybody have a recommendation?

Or is the Samsung 850 Evo M.2 sufficient for the Acer E5-771G model?

There is a 2/15/2016 Bios update for the 771G that says "3. Update Broadwell CPU microcode MC0306D4_00000016 and MC0306D3_FFFF0010.".The second has to do with the Intel Management Engine Interface Driver and updating processor support.

The last part of your question is something only you can answer. Does your chipset qualify?
