Hello,

I Love the Design and specs, I receive it originally with Win 8.1 Home, it was a disaster, almost imposible to use it (Crashes and Hangs). I upgraded to Win 10 but the problems continues. So then I decided to Reinstall from zero Win 10 and the computer work far better having only one Big problem, multiple crashes from the Video Driver ( I installed all drivers founded) most of them when usign Web Browsers (Mozilla Firebird practically is imposible to use it), I install Chrome and Opera also, all with the same problem. I see that thank you to this Forum that I am not the only one with this problem. I suspect for a Hardware problem so I try a Ubuntu live OS and All the problems was gone (I know it uses a Basic driver, but ok for me), so decide to install a UEFI boot version of Ubuntu so I can use the laptop waiting for a Video Driver update that resolve the Win 10 problems. Ubuntu Install process show all ok but never make it boot. I even format all my SSD's to start Ubuntu Fresh install but nothing.

Is there a way to install Ubuntu in UEFI mode? Even with out win 10 Install?

Thank's.

Probably better than I can explain it.

Thank you for you response but I already make all what this page shows. I could boot a USB UEFI Ubuntu 15.10 image. I then work in live mode (work nicely) and then install Ubuntu from the live version (also try it directly), but when reboot it says "No boot image". I think is something with the firmware but when I install Win10 it works. The problem is with Linux ( I try debian, OpenSUSE, FreeBSD ), I also disable 'SecureBoot'.

Did you  Choose the “Install Ubuntu alongside Windows Boot Manager” option.?

    http://www.everydaylinuxuser.com/2015/11/how-to-install-ubuntu-linux-alongside.html

Scroll down to the install Ubuntu section.

Yes, I select that option when I had Win 10. Later I kill Win 10 (delete All partitions - I was desperate!!!), install Ubuntu to have only Ubuntu OS installed but Ubuntu never boot.

    Thank's

If you erased the drive, you don't need to install Ubuntu in UEFI, unless you really want it.

You can change Uefi to legacy and install Ubuntu.

Pick Erase the disk and install and you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes, is the only option that I have not try (I will try RAID to AHCI change also), but I already reinstall Win 10 and I am trying to repair the faulty Win 10. I update the last video drivers and many problems were fixed. I still have the following problems:

    1. Mozilla crash everytime without a clue.

    2. Video Driver Crashes in some applications. I re run and nothing happens.

    3. In Chrome watching Youtube videos the sound stops and video continues for 15 seconds more and freeze, but Chrome continues responsive. This also occurrs in Mozilla and Opera.

    4. 'Event Viewer' application show's several error's...

Did you install Win 10 in Legacy mode? If not, you can't install Ubuntu in Legacy mode.

Ok, I finally install it in Legacy mode and AHCI mode. It works, DUAL BOOT. Another benefit is that samsung SSD software works because the AHCI mode (It was not working because dont like RAID mode). The video drivers problems go away. Still get event error's but I think they are Win10 problems.

Next step... will install in UEFI mode + AHCI mode to take advantages on Win 10 UEFI mode.
