My Acer  Predator G3-710 had a amd  Radeon R9 360 graphics and now the system says it has amd R7 360 graphics now  and all I did was update the drivers from the amd website. Can anyone explain why this is and if there is a way to fix it ?

    Are you 100% sure it was a R9 360?

    can you post the hardwareID?

    Windows logo key + x
    click on Device manager

    click on Display adapter
    double click on your VGA
    choose "Details" tab
    from dropdown menu, select HardwareIDs
click on the first value and copy/paste it here

    or you can download GPU-Z:

mmm check it with GPU-Z since it seems they both share the same hardwareID.

Can also be that Acer drivers has a different device string and AMD/ATI has another, so GPU-Z can read GPU BIOS and tells you better.

So at the end, if GPU-Z tells you it's a R9 360, it's only a different label on the same hardwareID.

    it's the GPU name.

    Edit: they seems equivalent

    here some good infos:

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-radeon-r9-360-370-380-are-all-respin-products.html

Then the low-end R9 360 OEM (radeon 7790 / Radeon R9 260) is based on Bonaire and gets 768 stream processors

so it's just an OEM label, your GPU is a renamed R9 360 (using Acer drivers), R6 360 using AMD drivers.
